I attach the fence glides to both ends of the fence. The rear one has a tightening knob to anchor the fence before making cuts. The other end does not need securing before making the cut. These glides are cushioned by nylon feet. Note that a piece of cardboard is placed under the fence. This cardboard is furnished in the kit and serves to set the spacing so that the fence can glide smoothly over the saw table.

Now I am ready to make the first of the alignments. I place a piece of 3/4" stock in the miter slot and move the fence to just touch it.
I loosen the 4 screws of the Ultra's base and move the fence until it is perfectly flush and aligned with the board (miter slot).  I then tighten the screws.

While the instructions didn't call for this step, I wanted to double check the accuracy of the fence at this point. It was exactly on.

The next step is to "zero the fence to the blade." That couldn't be easier. You loosen the carriage and move the fence close to, but not touching, the blade. You then engage the micro adjust knob until the fence "kisses" the blade. You lock it at that point.

With the fence locked at zero (kissing the blade), I register the scale at zero. Now this little feature I really like best of all the clever devices in the Incra System. The inch scale is a stainless steel rule resting on a magnetic strip. Adjusting the rule to zero is as easy as picking it up and moving it. Very neat!

With everything done and a brand new blade installed, I had to make my first cut. I set the fence to rip 1/8" off a piece of 1/2" MDF that was sitting around.

The first cut was perfect. So easy, that I decided to make some cuts using the Incra's scale. I just moved the fence 1/4" for each cut (1/8" for the blade and 1/8" for the piece I wanted.)
Of course it worked exactly. It is suppose to. For any woodworker who needs to cut thin strips and does not want the potential kickback dangers of setting the fence close to the blade,  the Incra TS III System really excels.

That completes this "Chapter." The Incra TS III fence is installed and working well. Now to the next segment which will be to add the extension table with the Rout-R-Lift — and after that I will add the sliding table, make an out-feed table that will store router bits and Incra jig templates...and lots of other things. And, yes, I will get a safety cover for the electrical cord.
