New Product - "Jessem Router Table, Fence and Lift Systems"

The Mast-R-Lift comes with one insert plate (right). The 4 at the left are available as an accessory kit.  I strongly recommend getting them. Having an insert that is near the size of the router is very important.

This handy wrench picks up the insert and allows you to place and lock it in it seat.

I have removed the grooving bit and am now installing the locking miter bit. If you have followed by past router episodes at all, you will know that I am a great fan of the "bent wrench". One is available for this router, but I want to see how it is to elevate the router all the way and change bits from above using Porter-Cable's standard wrenches. I must say, it is very easy.  The hand crank allows me to count the turns and return the bit to exactly where it was. That will be a nice feature to use.

The split fence is totally adjustable. Jessem even includes a handy Allen wrench to make the adjustments even easier.

The set-up block I have made for this bit works well here. The hand crank allows for such precise elevation adjustments. With each revolution representing 0.050" and the mechanism being so tight, adjustments in the thousandths can be made accurately — and with repeatability.
I think what I will do, is set up this bit and make a new set-up block that is a bit wider and can overlap both fences. Then I want to measure the number of turns from the highest elevation. If I can do this accurately, I won't need the setup block. I will simply be able to install the bit, crank the number of turns, set the fence and make the cut.

I was very impressed by Jessem for including some predrilled holes for installing a Rousseau safety on/off switch. I have always wired an outlet box before but this is convenient and the safety trip is just plain good sense.

I have attached one of the wrenches to the plug. I am fanatical about unplugging the router when changing bits. This assures it.

I would hate to even think of what would happen if the router did get turned on .... yikes.

Yes, this is the same picture as above. It got me thinking of a system that might be slightly different but more a more exact way to setup the bits. I am going to the shop.
If I am successful, I will tell about it on the next page.
