She can use this scale to set the
vertical placement of the mortise.

Marieanne's has installed the
Cross Stop attachments on the joiner and is setting both to 100 mm.
She attaches the power cord and the dust
extraction hose. She is almost ready to use the joiner.

She marks the ends of the boards so that
she will know where to reference when she starts making mortises.
Since she will be locating mortises
using Domino's auto positioning, she makes sure she always starts with the
edge marked with her "X".

She uses the Domino Joiners internal
stops for positioning for the first mortise.
For subsequent mortises, she uses the Cross
Stop pin stopped in the previous mortise to position the next mortise.

When that side is done, she turns the
board around and since the X is at the right, she starts her mortises from
the right edge.
This time she uses the opposite Cross
Stop arm and moves the joiner from right to left.

And this is the perfect picture. All the
mortises perfectly lined up with close spacing to the edge and then nicely
spaced from that point on.
She applies glue over the edges and the
tenons.
She tightens two clamps on what will be
her very first panel glue-up. And you can't get a finer assembly than this.
Marianne and Domino Joiner are a winning pair.
