This is Marieanne's first look at the
Festool Domino Joiner so I walk her through the steps of changing bit
size.
First she uses the small wrench to lift the forward fence unit release.

And she can slide it free from the body.
She unscrews the 6mm bit that was in
place, being careful to keep from touching the sharp edges of the bit.

Marieanne selects the 8mm bit from the
bit case. All the bits are black and hard to differentiate. Thankfully,
each bit is laser marked with the size and the case has handy
identification tags. She selects the 8mm bit for use next.
With her right hand on the shaft lock,
she can use the small wrench to tighten the bit on the shaft.

She slides the guide frame back onto the
motor unit.
She sets the plunge depth to 20mm. She
will be using an 8 X 40mm Domino tenon and this will allow both boards to
have equal depthed mortises.

She selects the mortise width to be
wider that the tenon. This will allow the tenon be fit tightly from a board
to board height perspective but allow left to right slack, making it easier
to fit the boards together.
She lowers the front fence to the 90o
mark and locks it in that position.
She releases the fence height lock.
