With the table top done, Catriona turns to making the legs. She draws a line to indicate the taper. She also marks where the apron will fit.

To attach the table sides to the legs, Catriona will be using beadLOCK loose tenons.

In laying out the legs, she realizes there is enough width to allow for two tenons, side-by-side, which will only add to the joint's strength.

She places a piece of masking tape at 3/4" so that she can make that the depth of the mortise.

With all the mortises made, Catriona moves to the saw to cut the tapers on each leg. Rather than use a taper jig, she will make a taper jig for this one use from a scrap of plywood. She starts by setting the leg on the board with the taper exposed and draws a pencil line around the leg.

At the bandsaw, she cuts to the line.

Keeping the plywood jig against the fence, the board holds the leg securely for the cut
